Heaven—After Life?

Elsewhere, I have written about the confining beliefs of childhood. Among them are our beliefs about Heaven and Hell, what they are like, who gets to go where and when.

I believe that Heaven is now. Est! Now.

The Medieval mystic Meister Eckhart wrote, "Your state here is your eternal state. This is hell or heaven." Why do we waste our lives waiting for after-life? Living in the future means to be dead to the present, here-and-now moment. We can choose to live fully in the now-vibrantly aware, as we would be upon seeing a doe suddenly cross our path.

Most people are only "pulled" into the present-and now-by a tragedy, a birth, or a major life event. This is the moment. There is no other. One can only live or be unconscious. To be fully present now is to experience Heaven.

This is the Garden. This is paradise. This is the Holy land-the Holy place. Questo momento é la vostra vita (This moment is your life.) Embrace!
